Sending Flowers to a Funeral Home or Cemetery in Los Angeles
You can send flowers to almost any funeral home in Los Angeles. Of the funeral homes whose websites we could read, none says it turns away flowers from another florist; Jewish funeral homes are the exception in practice, because flowers aren’t part of a Jewish funeral. Few funeral homes say when someone will be there to receive a delivery. Cemeteries publish firmer rules: glass is banned at most of the ones that publish any, and many clear the graves on a fixed day of the week.
On October 21, 2026, we checked 217 funeral homes and 72 cemeteries within our 30-mile delivery area. For some of them we found no website, or the site wouldn’t open; they appear in the lists too. This page sums up what each place says about flowers, with a link to the source, and names the places that publish nothing. Rules change, so check with the funeral home or cemetery before you order. Before you order
- Find out where and when the service is. Many funeral homes on the map are arrangement offices, and the service itself happens at a chapel, a church or the cemetery. The obituary or the family will tell you. Send the flowers to the place of the service.
- Ask the family whether they want flowers. Some families ask for a donation instead, and flowers aren’t customary at a Jewish funeral.
- Call the funeral home and ask when it’s open to receive flowers. Many close at 5 PM.
- In the delivery instructions in your bag, write the name of the deceased, the funeral home or venue, the time of the service and the funeral home’s hours. Your card message goes in the bag too, and we attach it to the flowers.
- For the service, a flower box or an arrangement that stands on its own is easiest for the funeral home to place. See our sympathy and funeral flowers and flower boxes.
When we deliver
Order before 6 AM for delivery the same day. We deliver between 12 PM and 8 PM, on a day the funeral home is open to receive the flowers, so choose a weekday if you can. For a service that starts before noon, the day before works well if the funeral home takes flowers that day. We can also bring the flowers by 9 or 10 AM for an extra fee; our team starts early and makes them that same morning. Call (323) 493-1514 or ask in the chat before you order, and we’ll tell you whether we can.
If you’ve arranged a different day with the funeral home yourself, write it in the delivery instructions and we’ll deliver on that day, between 12 PM and 8 PM. For a specific time, ask us before you order. In that case it’s up to you to make sure someone will be there to receive the flowers.
If no one accepts the flowers
If the funeral home or cemetery is closed or won’t take the flowers, we call you first and keep the bouquet safe at our shop at 6201 Hollywood Blvd until the end of pickup hours the next day. We don’t leave flowers outside a closed funeral home or at a cemetery gate. You can pick the bouquet up yourself, or book one redelivery to another address, later the same day or the next day. A redelivery costs the same as your first delivery. If the new address is farther away, you pay the higher fee for that address, and if it’s within our free delivery area, redelivery is free. We’ll confirm the amount with you first. If the bouquet isn’t picked up or redelivered by the end of pickup hours the next day, the order is complete.
When a funeral home or cemetery refuses the flowers or is closed, the order isn’t eligible for a refund. If we can’t deliver for a reason on our side, we refund the order or deliver again at no cost. We can’t promise that a place will accept a delivery, whether or not it appears on this page. Our Delivery & Pickup Policy has the full terms.
Sending flowers to a grave
- Our driver takes the flowers to the service or to the grave. To leave them at a specific grave, talk to us before you order and give us the cemetery, the section and plot number, and the name on the marker; this can cost extra.
- Many of our bouquets come in a glass vase, and most cemeteries that publish rules ban glass. Write “no vase” in the note for the florist in your bag and we’ll send the flowers wrapped. Many cemeteries want flowers in their own vases, set in the ground at the grave, and a wrapped bouquet fits those.
- Cemetery gates often close between 4:30 and 6 PM, and Jewish cemeteries are closed on Saturdays. We can’t deliver to a grave after the gates close, so tell us in the chat if timing is tight.
- Many cemeteries clear the graves on a fixed day: Thursday at Hollywood Forever, the Catholic cemeteries, Mountain View, Glen Haven, Park Lawn, Loma Vista and Wilmington; Tuesday at Little Lake; Wednesday at Artesia. Flowers delivered the day before cleanup won’t stay long. Around Día de los Muertos, Thanksgiving and Christmas, most of them pause the weekly cleanup; the dates are in each entry below.
- Cemeteries clear funeral flowers after a few days: within two days after the service at the Catholic cemeteries and Green Hills, on the third day at Forest Lawn and Rose Hills, after up to five days at Hollywood Forever and Loma Vista, and up to seven at San Gabriel.

What funeral homes publish about flowers
Most funeral homes link to a flower shop of their own or a partner florist. You can still send flowers from any florist; none of the funeral homes we could read says otherwise. A few publish something you can use.
What a few funeral homes say
Hollywood Forever Funeral Home
Hollywood Forever Funeral Home accepts flowers from outside florists. Give the florist the funeral home’s name and address, the name of the deceased and the time of the service. It also runs its own flower shop at the cemetery.
Spalding Mortuary
Spalding Mortuary asks you to call (323) 934-1181 before you send flowers, to confirm the service.
Malinow and Silverman Mortuary
Malinow and Silverman Mortuary, a Jewish funeral home, says on its page about Jewish traditions that a donation to charity honors the deceased more than flowers do. Our note: Ask the family before you send anything.
Heaven’s Gate Funeral Home
Heaven’s Gate Funeral Home asks you to let it know before you send flowers.
Hilgenfeld Mortuary
Hilgenfeld Mortuary says flowers should reach the funeral home, or the place it names, in time for the service, and can go on to the grave afterward. Its office is open Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Questions people ask
When should funeral flowers be delivered?
Before the service starts, so the funeral home has time to set them out. Because we deliver between 12 PM and 8 PM, a morning service needs flowers the day before, if the funeral home accepts them that day, or an early delivery by 9 or 10 AM arranged with us before you order.
What kind of flowers should I send?
For the service, choose a flower box or an arrangement that stands on its own. For a grave, choose a wrapped bouquet without a vase. Standing sprays, wreaths and casket sprays aren’t in our catalog, but our florist makes them to order; call or write to us in the chat before you order.
Can I send flowers to a Jewish funeral?
Usually not to the service. Hillside Memorial Park, a Jewish cemetery and mortuary, says: “Out of respect, flowers are generally not brought to Jewish funerals.” Malinow and Silverman suggests a gift to charity instead. Mount Sinai and Hillside close on Saturdays and Jewish holidays. Ask the family what they’d like.
Can I send flowers to the family’s home instead?
Yes. We deliver to homes across our delivery area, between 12 PM and 8 PM. Sending flowers to the home a few days after the service is common, especially when the service is private.
What if the ashes are scattered at sea?
The family carries the flowers onto the boat, so send them to the family’s home the day before. Sea burial companies ask for real flowers that break down in water, with nothing plastic or foam. Tell us in the chat that the flowers are for a scattering at sea.
