Each stem carries a row of white flowers with a yellow throat, and the buds at the tip keep opening after it arrives. Orchid blooms stay on the plant much longer than cut flowers last in a vase, and with some care the same plant can flower again.
Water it about once a week, when the top of the pot feels dry, and pour off anything left standing in the bottom. Keep it in bright, indirect light, away from heaters and hot afternoon sun. When the last flower drops, cut the stem just above a node, and a new spike may grow from there.
