We put Golden Hour together with Thanksgiving dinner in mind, and we make it in the fall only. It also works as a host gift for someone else's dinner, since a box needs no vase and can go straight onto the table.
The colors move from deep orange and gold to coral and dusty rose, the shades of late-afternoon light that gave the box its name. The dahlias are tight, ball-shaped heads, and the yellow garden roses next to them are soft and full of petals, so the two textures play against each other. Red astilbe adds feathery plumes, and our florist lets red and copper foliage trail over the rim and tucks the orange and white mini pumpkins low between the flowers.
